Korean Grammar Lesson 22. -ㄴ 듯싶다

* Grammar
 
-ㄴ 듯싶다 
Modifier clause in -(으)ㄴ + 듯 + 싶-: it feels/seems like, as if maybe; think to oneself that... On processive bases, the sense is past tense: seems/feels as though it did/was. On descriptive bases the sense is non-past: seems/feels as though it is.
 
 
* Example Sentence
 
It seems good to me to do so. 
그렇게 하는 것이 좋을 듯 싶다.;나는 그렇게 할 작정이다.
 
There appears to have been some misunderstanding.
뭔가 오해가 있었던 듯 싶다
 
It looks like it will rain.
비가 올 듯 싶다
 
I think I'm going to need a van.
밴이 나을 듯 싶군요.
 
There seems to be no way out of the quandary.
곤경에서 빠져나올 길이 없는 듯 싶다.
